Detailed Descriptions:

The “cover button kit” is a type of button used for fastening certain clothing items or bags. These buttons are sewn in hidden or inconspicuous areas, making them less noticeable, and are often referred to as “hidden buttons.” Some people consider “cover buttons” to be a type of snap button, which is a more common fastening mechanism. These snap buttons come in metal and resin (sometimes called plastic) varieties. When the two parts of the button are pressed together, they lock into place, which is why they are also called “snap buttons.” Typically, these buttons are sewn inside the garment, making them discreet and hidden from view, hence the term “hidden button.”

How to Use a Cover Button Kit

Opening a Cover Button

  1. Press the metal pieces on either side of the button: Use your fingers to gently press the metal pieces on each side of the cover button, causing it to pop open.
  2. Press with your palm: Use your palm to press the button, ensuring it connects securely with the fabric and stays firmly in place.

Sewing a Cover Button onto Clothing

  1. Choose the appropriate location for the cover button: Determine where the button should go based on the garment’s style and the desired effect. You can use a washable fabric pen or heat-erasable pen to mark the spots for easy reference during the process.
  2. Use tools to help with positioning: You can use paper tape, pins, or a button locator to accurately position the button and ensure each one is placed correctly.
Sewing Steps:
  1. Begin by picking a needle through the fabric’s surface and pulling the thread so the knot forms inside the fabric layer.
  2. Pass the thread through the buttonhole.
  3. Insert the needle along the edge of the buttonhole, then pass it back through the hole. Pull the thread beneath the needle.
  4. After pulling the thread through, a small knot will form at the edge of the buttonhole.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4, trimming excess thread as you go, and sewing each buttonhole securely.
  6. Once finished, push the needle through the back of the fabric and tie a knot to secure the thread.
  7. To finalize, insert the needle at the knot position and exit slightly away from it, pulling the thread through to hide the knot inside the fabric layers.

By following these steps, you can securely attach the cover button to your garment while ensuring a neat, aesthetically pleasing result.
